The actual Hoodia plant is actually thirteen different plants, and only one of them contains the active ingredient. There remains doubt if hoodia is a potential diet supplement since so far none of the studies have shown too much promises. Although with regular dieters there is far more things to concider than the results of scientific studies. As it seems hoodia has entered the weight loss markets just after the notorious ephedra is banned. Ephedra had many supporters because of its thermogenic qualities. Most of the supporters claimed that ephedra raises their body temperature. Well if ephedra makes people think that they are burning extra calories by doing nothing and just taking the pills, hoodia might have a lot of the same kind of qualities. If some supplement like hoodia gordonii extract can make you eat healthier then maybe it is worth spending some money. Combine this with other herbal remedies for obesity and you are on your way to being skinny.
Although like with every other diet pill that is out there, Hoodia has shown some of the best results with people who have a good diet and exercise plans. So as the studies have usually been done with people who were not exercising there is no data if hoodia gordonii has some good qualities when combined with diet and exercise. It should have some good qualities since it is the most popular diet pill out there!

Hoodia has had a lot of publicity which all date a few years back. And it was mostly crushed by the news networks who were throwing big sentences in the air like ”it lacks the clinical evidence” and so on. What they did not realise was that it also lacks the decent clinical studies. All clinical studies are not equal, and with hoodia it propably never got to the decent ones.
I am not saying that I am an yes-man to the hoodia enterprise but all I am saying that even if something lacks the scientific studies that solidly proof that it works by this much and this difference between the weight loss groups is considered as a significant difference, it does not mean that is could work for you. If you think that taking hoodia diet pills make you less hungry then they make YOU less hungry and lose weight fast. It is that simple! Like any other diet supplement out there, Hoodia has some potential side effects that you should be aware of before you choose to use the supplements.

Between fat binders and appetite suppressants I would propably have to go with fat binders. I just don’t like the idea of manipulating my hypothalamus to make me less hungry. Especially with a natural supplement which has not been tested all that much, and has been around for a relatively short amount of time. This in my opinion makes Hoodia a less tempting choice for your cheap diet pills.
