If you want to enjoy running indoors then you must buy a treadmill. You have two choices: a manual treadmill or an electric treadmill. The difference is that a manual treadmill does not have a motor that runs the belt. That means that it’s your running that moves the belt. We here at Inexpensive Treadmills usually prefer manual ‘mills to motorized ones, because they are lighter, take less space and they are a lot cheaper. But every now and then we come by electric treadmills that we really like and Merit Fitness 725T is one of those.
We like to focus on the quality vs price issue. You can get the 725T for around 400 USD which is twice as expensive as the most expensive manual treadmill, but as for motorized ones go, it is dirt cheap. Normally cheap home fitness equipment is flimsy and low quality, but not in this case. Okay, it does not have all thing that a top of the range 2000 dollar model would have, but do you really want to pay 1600 bucks for a fancy plastic cover? Those larger plastic covers usually mean that it takes a lot of space. This Merit Fitness is one of the smallest electric units we have tested.
It has sturdy frame which is always appreciated here. Merit Fitness 725T has a good shock absorbing capability even if you are a heavier runner/walker. It has all you need from automated incline, heart rate monitor, preset workouts and one of the most important thins you can ask for, a cup holder. It is also very quiet and runs smoothly. It even has a lifetime warranty, which is something that you can find in the most expensive models. The 725T is great for some looking for a cheap motorized treadmill, that does not take a lot of space.
Some other treadmills we have put through our testing are the manual treadmills by Stamina Inmotion and the Phoenix Easy Up 98516 which were both in fact superior to many other cheap electric treadmills that you can find.
