When you are looking for a treadmill that comes with a low price tag, the most affordable option that you have is a manual one. These not only a lot cheaper but they take up quite a small amount of space, so if you are limited in storage then this is the option that you want to go with.
We have reviewed other manual treadmills as well, like the Stamina In Motion that is very similar to the Phoenix 98516 Easy-Up Manual Treadmill but honestly does offer you with a more steady experience. Normally with mechanical machines like this the noise level is quite low, but when we compared these two next to each other, this one was actually making more noise. Since the belt is set up incline you can get quite good workouts on this running machine.
Keep in mind that with a motorized treadmill you get a totally different style of workout – the belt is moving and you are trying to catch up – but with a manual one you are the one powering the belt. This makes it especially good for working your glutes and hamstrings!
Who is it for?
If you intend to use your treadmill mostly for low intensity aerobic workouts then this might be a good one for you, although I would still recommend the Stamina In Motion – with just a fraction bigger price tag it is almost like in a totally different price class. These manual models always surprise me with their size, because they are ligntweight and can easily be folded up in to the closet.
The conclusion
If you already own a motorized machine, then I suggest that you have a look at the manual models anyways. They offer a totally different workout and even if they aren’t so good for a high intensity workout, they work different muscles and can provide a good workout. This model is a good basic machine, and if you want to get away without spending too much money, it’s the one that you should choose.
